Shekere

Shekere is a Houston-based variety band directed by Agustin Nava. The band has spent more than 11 years serving corporate and personal clients in South America and the USA with fully live dance music for events and parties.

Their live show centers on high-energy, danceable Latin styles including Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Pop, Reggaeton, Latin Pop, and Rock en Español. The group was formed nearly 11 years ago with musicians and vocalists bringing fresh ideas, technique, and passion to a wide range of event settings.

The band’s members are professional, versatile musicians, and the same player may perform on up to three different instruments. That flexibility supports a live format that can stop or continue as needed and adjust to the flow of a program or schedule.

For audiences looking for a broader mix, Shekere also offers an American Show by request. This set includes standard covers of American favorites, with a mix of traditional and classic Top 40, funk, disco, and current club music.
